I was absolutely exhausted from the past couple of days. Mind you, I was used to living in Orlando, where really the only excitement you get around there are the beaches and theme parks(which is still pretty awesome!). I was still trying to take in all that Chicago has to offer. The past couple of days, I was fortunate enough to explore the beauty of the Windy City. But guess what? I’m still here for a couple of days and I WANT MORE!
All that exploring got me really hungry. And there’s still one food that I haven’t eaten yet…some good old deep dish Chicago Pizza! Our first stop was at the “hip” aka the Harlem Irving Plaza mall. I remember this place! We’d always go shopping here when I was a kid. Now, people that know me knows that I am the worst shopper ever. Not in a I-have-bad-taste kind, but the I-will-shop-till-my-credit-card-drops kind. I went Best Buy because I had the Best Buy rewards card (I think I had credit in there after I bought my canon rebel). Wise tip: If you’re gunna buy something expensive, buy it at Best Buy so that you’ll get some money back!
I ended up getting the Phillips Fidelio music dock for my Samsung Galaxy S2. I didn’t need it, but I wanted it. SO I bought it. See my logic here? I’m such a horrible person! And now that I am sitting here writing this post, I am kicking myself for buying something I didn’t need! GAH! haha but I like it, and I think it will add a modern touch to my apartment at UCF 🙂 Then me and my mom went to another store in the mall and we somehow ended up in the fragrances section. I wanted to try out something different so the ladies showed me the new cologne from Dolce & Gabbana, Light Blue. Smells soo good! And I think this is what is popular in Europe right now, because I keep smelling this from the foreign exchange students from Europe. Since I just recently bought a Lacoste Essential cologne for myself, I bought my mom the D&G perfume instead. The saleslady thought that I was so nice buying my mom perfume that she gave me a small bottle of D&G Light Blue. See? Being nice does get you nice things! 😉
Ok, I think my credit card has had enough hits for the day. Let’s get food! And foods we did! We headed to Bacino’s Pizza! And of course, we ordered the deep dish spinach mushroom pizza. That 45 minute wait was well worth it because once I laid my hands on that pizza…OMG. Foodgasm!
Then we headed back to our place to take a breather because we’re going out again. For dinner, my aunt’s really close family friend and daughter took us out to dinner at this Polish buffet. Polish buffet? Only in Chi-town! It was called the Jolly Inn and let me tell you. Their pierogi and kielbasa are to die for! I love European foods, and Polish foods are right in that alley. Sooo good! And the servers were so nice! Next time you visit Chi-town, I suggest you visit this place!
