Besides being a full time undergraduate student and a resident assistant at UCF, I am also an Undergraduate Admissions Ambassador here. Basically, it’s a fancy term for tour guide. But we’re much more than that!
I was an ambassador at the Rosen College since Fall 2012 up until summer 2012 when I decided to transfer to main campus to be an RA over there. Consequently I got transferred over here at main campus to be an ambassador. It is quite the experience and I have been falling in love with UCF over and over again.
At first I was overwhelmed by the tours here. Normally, Rosen College tours would take around 45 to 60 minutes which includes the campus tour and the housing tour. I show people what a typical classroom looks like, the Beer and Wine Lab, the Disney Dining Room and Kitchen, our beautiful Mediterranean-Resort Style campus and our beautiful apartments where we get free weekly housekeeping, free laundry and other amazing all-inclusive amenities.
Here at main campus, tours would last from 60-90 minutes and that is just campus tours. We don’t do housing as there is a separate housing tour. But within those 60-90 minutes, there is so much to talk about! I have learned so much about UCF and after learning about all the cool things, I have fallen in love with UCF even more. I love being able to show off all the cools things that we do and the great things that we have to offer. Here at UCF, we are trying to be number one at everything. So you better join us…or watch out for us! But parents love me after every tour because I tell them that when their kids call them expecting their parents to be an ATM machine, the parents need to refer their kids to the Psychology Building. And it’s not for the reason you think. You’ll have to go on a UCF tour to find out why! And moms love me when I say my favorite line: “a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”.
Here are just a few pictures from the UCF website. I definitely suggest that you go on a tour of UCF and see why I have fallen in love with the campus. We give tours Monday-Friday from 10am-12pm and from 2pm-4pm. Go knights!
