Rice Pudding with Berries
This one is one of my favorites. I’ve never had rice pudding before so I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. But I loved it! The berries really complemented the pudding. I thought it was a mushy smooth mixture, but there were definitely actual rice pieces in there, so the texture was really interested.
Taste of Scandinavia: Herring, Salmon and Shrimp Salad
The minute I told my dad about the Taste of Scandinavia, he was super excited to get over to Norway. I’ve never had herring, so I was excited to try it too. I’ve tried raw salmon from IKEA and I loved it, so I’m sure that I’ll love it as well here. The salmon, as expected, was good and it did have some herbs and flavors which was good. I’ve never had herring before, so I didn’t know what to expect. It definitely was foul and a little sour, and my verdict would have to be a no. But that is just my opinion and I’m sure others love it! There’s just something about the raw fishy taste that did not go well with me!
Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce and Pickled Vegetables
I was confused when I found this in the China pavilion. I usually associate chicken satay with Thai food so I was a bit confused. But either way, it was really really good! The sauce was a perfect combination of spicy and peanuts. Usually some peanut sauces would be too much peanuts or too much spices. The pickled vegetables were ok.
Pork Pot Stickers
These were a huge disappointment. Even the potstickers at a normal Chinese buffet were better. It was really hard and dry. Maybe because we got to China around the afternoon and maybe the batch that I got had been standing out for a while. It was just ok. But for the price, it was a disappointment.
Mango Tapioca Pudding
YES! So good! I loved this pudding so much! It was a really nice dessert that they had. It wasn’t too sweet, but it was cool and creamy and the mango bits was a nice touch!
