Back at the happiest place on earth again! This time we decided to visit Disney’s BoardWalk, located at the Epcot Park and Resorts Area. BoardWalk offers a promenade with a nice vibrant scenery at night. The resort offers a fantastic view of the Yacht Club Resort which is directly across from it.
We decided to check out Kouzzina by Cat Cora. It’s a Greek place and so I’m excited because I rarely eat at Greek restaurants!
Unfortunately Kouzzina closed down in September, so we literally ate a few days before it closed down. Trattoria al Forno now replaces the restaurant and offers Italian cuisine. The restaurant was an upscale casual place, but you can still wear casual clothes. The interior is gorgeous with nice warm accents and somewhat dim lighting giving an intimate dining setting, but you will still see families and children here. What I also love is that you get to see the open kitchen and see the chefs preparing meals.
We tried the calamari. Now if Trattoria kept some of the dishes and if the calamari is still the same, YOU NEED TO ORDER THE CALAMARI. ORDER THE CALAMARI. It’s crunchy on the outside and the inside of it just melts in your mouth. I don’t know how…but it does! It’s amazing.
We tried the slow cooked beef shank and pastitsio. According to our wonderful and attentive server, the beef shank has been cooking for hours. So I had to try it and it was the most tender pops right of the bone beef shank I’ve ever had. The flavor profiles were savory and it was seasoned just right. The pastitsio can be seen in the back. The pastitsio was really nice and the Greek cheese béchamel sauce was a perfect touch. If you have room for dessert, try the gelato and loukoumades (greek donuts)!
Because Kouzzina changed to Trattoria al Forno, I’m not sure if they’ll have the same things that we tried. We might check the place out again soon since we had a really nice experience when we went to Kouzzina, so hopefully Trattoria lives up to that experience and same food quality! After dinner, we just walked around the promenade and it was a nice ending to the night. There is a small bakery and other small restaurants that you can walk into, but we were too full for that. There were performers, and there was enough people to make the place lively, but it wasn’t too crowded that it was loud or chaotic. I literally felt like I was at a boardwalk in New England.
