If there’s anything I love, it’s long drives, quick weekend getaways, and trying new restaurants. Going to Miami for the weekend to get my Cuban fix was the best decision I’ve made in a while! No city has more delicious Cuban cuisine than Miami and you have to make a stop at Versailles.
Versaiiles is located in Little Havana and is broken up into two parts: a bakery and a restaurant. We stopped by the bakery. The bakery has everything from your Cuban sandwiches, croquetas to pastries and desserts. Don’t forget to get a cuban coffee while you’re at it!
But my favorite part is the restaurant. We came by on a Sunday lunch and the wait was about 20 minutes, so that wasn’t so bad. There were a lot of seats and it was pretty crowded. However, as crowded the place was, the staff seemed very organized and on top of it. Don’t come here expecting a Disney magical service, but they are fast and efficient in carrying out orders and service. Our food came pretty quick.
I ordered the criollo platter which consisted of yellow Rice, Black Beans, “Ropa Vieja” Shredded Beef in Tomato Sauce, Fried Pork Chunks, Ham Croquette, Sweet Plantains, Cuban Tamale, and Cassava with Cuban Mojo. I WAS IN HEAVEN. Pair that with a pina colada and I could live here for the rest of my life.
Seriously, next time you’re in the 305, you have to stop by this place and try everything on this menu. You won’t be disappointed! Until next time, Versailles!
