A few months ago I graduated from UCF and as a present, my parents booked a few days at the Villas at Grand Cypress. I haven’t really heard much about it, but after our stay, I cannot stop saying enough about this place. Whether you’re a local or a tourist looking for a getaway oasis in Orlando, look no further. Situated just right outside Disney World, this places makes you feel like you are miles away from the madness but very close to the magic.
Where do I even start. Driving up to the villas is an experience in itself. You are driving through the golf course, but for some reason, I was getting that African safari feel. There’s just so much nature that I forgot I was in the middle of Orlando. Upon check in, the front desk was extremely friendly and accommodating. My parents can’t say enough amazing things about our bellman too.
When I entered our villa, I was floored. Everything about this place felt so cozy, yet luxurious. This was the living room. There was enough space here for about ten people to comfortably sit around – it’s huge!
Our dining room had a spacious table big enough for eight people. I love the layout of this room too – so much natural light and the windows were a perfect choice. I felt like I was in my own paradise. This literally reminds me of the Philippines with wooden style windows.
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. Have a question? Call PBX, or their phone operators, and someone will be there within seconds. My parents hosted a brunch and invited friends and family over when the oven broke down. We called the front desk/PBX and we had a team of engineers in a few minutes. They resolved it very quickly and I was seriously impressed by the prompt service and friendliness of everyone.
THE BEST PART: No, not the bedroom, BUT THE BATHROOM. But the bedroom was very clean, spacious and very cozy. Also, at night, the floors light up the minute your foot touches the ground. I mean, totally no big deal. I wished I took a picture of it, but let me tell you about their bathroom. I heard that the villas underwent a major renovation and the bathroom was a major evidence of that. There was ample lights. But if you look in their drawers, there is a remote. For the tv inside the bathroom mirror. You know, if you just wanted to catch up with your favorite show while taking a bath or splurging on that European Spa shower. Yes, the shower has multiple heads and while it was confusing to use at first, it was amazing once I got used to it. Their products that they provide is the London based Gilchrist and Soames. One whip of their soap, shampoo, or bath salt and you are instantly relaxed. I couldn’t get enough of being in this room.
We got the two bedroom villa and it was in two floors. The second floor room, which was mine, had very nice relaxing views of the lake and the golf course. My parents had the room on the first floor which had access to the back porch.
The back porch was one of my favorite spots in the entire villas, aside from the bathroom of course. You get this tranquil feeling like you are in your own world. In paradise to be exact. And it’s no tiny back porch too. There’s a table and further down there’s private lounge chairs. Each villa has their own porch and that made it all the better. If you are lucky, you’ll get to have ducks walk up to your back yard.
And there’s nothing better than waking up and having this for breakfast. Could life get any better than this?
And of course, no resort in Orlando is complete without a pool and spa. And the pools at the villas did not disappoint. My favorite is the spa pools. Another great thing about the Villas at Grand Cypress is that you get access to the nearby Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress pools, restaurant and amenities. The villas provides a complimentary shuttle over or you can drive and park for free. The pools there are amazing and I highly recommend you to check it out once if you stay at the Villas at Grand Cypress.
For dinner one night, we dined at Nine18, located at the Villas Clubhouse. I’ll have to make a review for that another day, but that was one of my favorite dinners. From their attentive sommeliers to the unique takes on something as simple as their house salads. You have to try this place as well.
We stayed at the Villas at Grand Cypress for a few days, but it literally felt like a blink of an eye. There was always something to do and if there wasn’t, the luxurious and cozy villa allowed for a perfect lazy afternoon. If you’re looking for a vacation in Orlando that is entirely independent of the theme parks, yet close by for you to go to, you have to stay at the Villas at Grand Cypress. From the fabulous and impressive service we received everywhere to the peaceful property, we will be back for sure! Thanks for an amazing vacation, VGC!
